This Christmas season, generosity took center stage as Bridget's Kids, a nonprofit based in Detroit dedicated to uplifting youth and strengthening families, partnered with Purposed Hands , who was kind enough to open their doors and allow Bridget's Kids to use their Non-profits brick and mortar (building) as a safe space to donate, they were able to deliver hope, warmth, and holiday magic to families in need for a second year.

Together they served 71 children on Saturday December 6, 2025. Gifting each child three toys, along with donated clothing to support local families during the holidays and winter season. What made this toy drive truly special wasn't just the number of children served - it was the meaning behind it.
Why Three Gifts? A Purpose Rooted in Scripture.
Bridget Collins, The President of Bridget's Kids, chose to give three gifts per child for a deeply personal and spiritual reason. Inspired by Matthew 2:11, where the wise men brought Jesus three gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
"If the wise men honored Jesus with three gifts, we wanted to honor each child in the same spirit." - Bridget Collins
This symbolic choice transformed the drive from a simple donation event to a biblically inspired act of giving, echoing the heart of Christmas story and spirit.

A special Touch: Volunteers Wrapping Gifts on the Spot!
One of the most cherished parts of this event was the thoughtful addition of gift-wrapping stations. Parents had the option of getting their children toys wrapped on site, adding a moment of joy and personal connection during a season that can be financially and emotionally challenging.

For many families, this simple moment brought back the excitement of preparing Christmas surprises, something some might not have been able to experience otherwise.

A Celebration of Community, Compassion, and Christmas Spirit
The impact of this event rippled far beyond the gifts themselves:
71 Children received Christmas presents
Over 200 toys were distributed
Clothing, shoes and boots were provided to multiple families
Parents left with wrapped gifts and lifted hearts

But the brightest takeaway? The smiles, gratitude, and warmth shared by everyone involved.
A Christmas to Remember
This partnership between Bridgets Kids and Purposed Hands non-profit(s) stands as a powerful reminder of what happens when love meets purpose. Families felt seen, children will feel celebrated, and the community felt connected in the true spirit of Christmas.
Hope is here. Love is alive. And every child deserves joy.
